32. Night

    It was the only time he could see him

    The only moment they could have together

    In the darkness of the starry sky

    Too many years had gone past

    So lonely and without the warmth

    Waiting for the time to fall into peace

    When he could dream, he would be there

    Right beside him, hand in hand

    The place did not matter, only he did

    The nights were so short

    The dreams even quicker gone than the day would start

    Only a moment to see the man of his heart’s desire

    But even when he could not sleep

    When the dreams did not come forth

    The nature itself brought the reminder

    The stars reminded him of the silver hair

    The black sky was his clothes

    The first morning light brought his eyes

    Night brought him what he had lost

    Yet, it could not take away the yearning

    The feeling that was tearing him apart

    The strong wish to touch him and hold him

    The desperate prayer to kiss him again and to inhale his scent

    The overwhelming dream to hear his voice again and to refresh the memories

    But with each night came more time between them

    The last true meeting had been so long ago

    Oh, how he wanted to be by his side again

    When he understood that no dream would ever come back

    He laid down each night below the clouds, stars, moon and the sky

    To reminisce about the time long lost

    One day, he swore

    One day they would be back together
